WILDLIFE VIEWING

Wildlife Viewing

With more than 1.7 million acres of pristine and picturesque public lands, Moffat is Colorado’s second largest county. Wild horses, sandhill cranes, and elk herds roam the wide-open spaces much like they did hundreds of years ago. The pioneer history of the American West comes alive in Moffat County, where to this day you’ll find just a few small towns and a population so sparse it numbers only three people per square mile. You’ll enjoy abundant wildlife sightings and the freedom to explore magnificent canyons, wild rivers and beautiful mountain scenery little changed since frontier times.
